Day 17/18: Cutting the Grocery Bill

I accomplished a HUGE TD today - grocery shopping. I wrote a few days ago how shocked I was to find out I spend an average of $900 per month on groceries. I read a stat that the US Labor Department estimates that the average family of 4 spends $709 on groceries each month. I will cut my current average by 20%. Once the budget is finished I might need to cut even more.

Stayed tune for all my great tips on how I accomplish this goal!
Please share you best tips on saving at the grocery store.

To Do List:
  1. Work (and not from home today. I have to be out and about.) - C
  2. Wrap 2 Birthday gifts - C
  3. Pick up dessert to take to party. - C
  4. Plan grocery shopping  - C
  5. Grocery Shop - C
  6. Put up Christmas Tree!!!
  7. Work on finishing up living room.

I was shocked to see that I spend at least $900.00 on groceries as well. I thought that since we don't dine out often I could justify this amount, however, I think we can eat just as well by shopping smarter and planning meals better. This is something I need to work on!!
